Students, Discipline, Punishments

Of late several occurrences of students suffering from corporal punishments by their teachers being published in news papers are very hurting people.
This behavior of teachers is branded by the media as “Monstrous Behavior”.
Teachers who should be the embodiment of love, patience and affection, kindness etc are resorting to such behavior that is difficult to believe.
When teachers are handling the children they should be extremely patient, should listen to their problem to find out an appropriate solution. Teachers should not also forget that they have to deal with students of different socio- economic background. They should also be diplomatic, polite, in dealing with children.
Any wrong move by the teacher will hurt the children, and they will not express to anybody but will feel bad. Children also feel hurt when they are given corporal punishment, or scolded in front of their friends or classmates because they consider their teachers as their role model.
For disciplining children, teachers should not think of corporal punishment. The teachers should win over the children by their love as “Love begets Love”
Government should initiate a training program on “How to handle children without hurting”. Govt should also take a stand on those teachers who hurt children, and their punishments that go to the extent of causing death. Govt should make Byelaws for abolishing corporal punishments.
One last word for teachers. Have a little patience and concern for your students. Before giving punishment think for while. The person who you are dealing is many years younger than you and innocent. Please do not harm. If you are considerate and understanding the child will shower you with love and worship you as you are next to his Mother and Father.
